Does my vulva look normal?

Posted , 4 users are following.

ive never really looked before but I feel very conscious of how i look down below - i feel i look almost too pink if that makes any sense? I apologise that I am currently on my period but just looking for some confirmation that I am normal. i have no symptoms and i am STI free. image

    Dear abbie,

I'd agree with the others- it all looks perfectly normal. Just a side note, the fine grainy lumps on either side of the labia are just Fordyce spots (Google), which are just prominent sebaceous glands. I have annotated your photo to show you what I'm referring to.

I don't know how old you are but these glands become more prominent during adolescence and are just a feature of sexual development like breast enlargement, pubic hair, periods, etc.

    Rgds,

thank you. It probably sounds crazy but i took a few diff pics and some just made it look quite red so i got a bit worried - i know people can be a range of colours but occasionally it does tend to look brighter pink like the first image

      Hi,

By bottom right, it's the bottom left of the photo- is this where you're referring to?

If that's the case, the area shows Fordyce spots. Nothing else.

      Adhari.
