Does or can fusing happen with Low E but no LS?

Hi,
I'm new to the group. Not explicitly diagnosed with LS just yet, but I went to see my Gyn for a post-op a few days ago (D&C & uterine polyp removal) and she said that I had clitoral fusing due to vaginal atrophy from low estrogen. When I got home, I broke out the mirror and was shocked to see that I also have fusing of my labia minora (about 80% fused - somewhat free towards my clitoris). My mind was blown. This totally snuck up on me!
She recommended estrogen (1g/night) + dilators. I saw a 2nd gyn a few weeks before my D&C to consult about having pain with sex, and she also recommended the dilators, said my pain was psychosomatic (vaginismus?), and totally missed the clitoral fusion! Egad.
My vagina isn't lax, which is what one would think of when you think of atrophy, but it's ridiculously tight and sex is painful (feels like glass). It feels as though it's getting worse.
I think my big question is:
**Can fusing happen with low E and "atrophy" and absence of LS?
All in all, I think both Gyn may be misdiagnosing me, but I'm new to this. Appreciate any insights you ladies have.
I've read tons of the discussions here and am intrigued by the Borax and baking soda solutions. Ordered a box of 20 Mule Team borax on Amazon fresh last night and it arrived today. I made a saturated solution and am ready to get started trying this.
**Does anyone know where this started and if there's a chemical basis for why it works?
