Does the choice of lens affect whether I would likely to have dry eyes after a cataract surgery?

Which lenses are less likely to cause dry eyes? Thank you!

I don't think the IOL (lens) itself matters regarding dry eye.
Its the incision on the cornea and affects from the eye drops post surgery that can affect the cornea surface and end up causing dry eye symptoms. Thats why its very common to get dry eye after LASIK surgery too.

The incision in the cornea (whether due to the cataract surgery or LASIK procedure) does have an effect on the dryness of the eyes because of the signal to the brain from nerves in the area ( to provide adequate moisture) is affected until the nerves are re-connected.
Of course, one can have dry eyes syndrome because of other reasons even if one has not had any cataract surgery or a LASIK procedure. Many people fall in this category.
In every case, use of lubricant eye drops can easily solve this issue.

Generally speaking some degree of dry eyes occur with IOL placement. If you have dry eyes, use Alcon's "Systane Ultra" or similar. It comes in 5 or 10ml. It lubricates the eye.
