Does the combined oral contraceptive work when my T4 is up?

hi there,

I was recently diagnosed with graves disease with high T4 and low TSH. my endocrinologist said at our first meeting hat the birth control pill would not work because he T4 was so high. I just got my bloods repeated and it's back to normal levels. Does anyone know will the pill now work as birth control? my endocrinologist is on holidays apparently, so I'm stuck

it sounds reasonable to me, but since your endocrinologist is on vacation, can you ask your primary doc, or call another endocrinologist and explain your situation to them?

Thats the best idea I can come up with.

i am sure others might give you a different answer. Hang in there.
