I have Ibs but the specialist did say the better your diet the more you will suffer. Complex fibre makes it worse - veg, fruit, high fibre such as whole grain bread.

Dairy can also be a flare up instigator.

I took symprove and that worked for me.

Centrifugal juicers can work as they take out the complex fibre but keeps the vitamins in.

I am trying the roadmap diet too. There's lots of info online and a good app from Monash university in Australia. Good luck

The low fodmap diet really helped me to start but not so much now. The dietician I saw said it can loose effectiveness over time. You should try it. It takes a while but is worth it in my oppinion. There is lots of info online

I found it helped enormously, and within two weeks it had pretty much cleared all the lower abdominal pain I was experiencing. I followed it religiously for two weeks (excluding wheat and gluten also), whilst also taking my usual supplements, and I'm at the point now where I'm adding foods back in slowly.

I should point out that although my GP thinks I have IBS, I'm not so sure. Either way, altering my diet even for such a short amount of time has been a revelation.

The Fodmap diet definitely worked for me! It also allowed me to find what was the real cause of all my problems: wheat, barley, rye - everything containing gluten!

I definitely recommend it. And even if it doesn't work as well for you, you'll still get benefits from it (you digest gluten free food easily and you don't feel bloated because of it wink )

Do it, its not given me 100% results or made it totally go away. But i do follow it and has helped me loads out, tho not able to eat some things is horrible, as i love onion n garlic. So you might find it tricky. But stick to it you will see a difference.

    good luck
