Does this happen to anyone?

Had to leave work today. Stomache flu has hit our work place. After being off work all summer with balance issues iam finally back to work but still have bad days. Today i felt like i was going to spin out of control ,i was afraid i was going to have a vertigo attack. Came home bc i was worried i was going to endure more weeks of being off balanced and lose time at work again. Does viruses affect anyone else this way? I knew i needed to rest bc if i would have pushed myself i would end up being out of commission for awhile. I have started vrt excercises in which my specialist gave me to do 2 times a day on my own for the first month. I sometimes do not do them bc it provokes the symtoms and bc iam doing better then i was i get scared i will be back to what i was in the summer.

Hi Marci  I think any other illness will trigger more problems with vertigo because this is a problem that can be affected by whatever else is happening.  Just like stress, anxiety,  tiredness, dehydration, diet, etc., all have an effect on vertigo. Hope you feel better soon.

Thank you for the reply. I so hate this, i wish i was normal..get the flu and then it be gone. I don't want to go through this again. Just went through it for months. Still trying to catch up finacially which is stressful enough. More time off work just exacerbates stress 😯

I was off balanced from may to September. It was incredibly hard to work. Iam getting better but still have those days where i feel like iam swaying but i have managed to be at work for the last three weeks. I have 2 other episodes before that lasted for months. I used to get wicked vertigo attacks that you i could not even get out of bed. They told me 8 years ago i had meniers bc i lost all of my hearing in my left ear. Now hearing loss is mild in right ear with mid to low frequency. New specialist i saw said i don't have meniers and to stop all of my serc??? Iam confused. Said i have a vestibular disorder bc of how long the imbalance is lasting. Isn't meniers a vestibular disorder? Could the so called meniers leave me with a unsteadiness bc of the loss i have had in my ears?
