Does this look like HS? Or something else? Photos included

Had this lump for probably around 4 months now, it comes and goes however it is mostly present. It sometimes becomes tender, however it is mostly painless. Sometimes it is red, as shown, and sometimes it is not. On the photo, the lump looks small, however when you touch it, it is around the size of the top segment of your forefinger. It is not a completely round shape. I rang the doctor about this, they think it is a swollen lymph node and nothing to worry about and not to get it checked out due to corona virus, however I really just want it gone now.

thanks in advice

Hi. Hard to tell really. I would question whether this is lymph nodes? Why so much inflammation if it is lymph nodes. I am not qualified to offer any diagnosis. These are just my thoughts. Have you tried a hot poultice?

I understand the need to reach out for confirmation and thoughts on this ingrowing hair resembling lump. Could I possibly suggest the use of underwear next time? Or even just the picture which shows the lump and not the vagina would have have been sufficient. Just a thought.

If it is the only one you have ever had, it is probably not HS. However, if you continue to get them, it might be.

However, boils or cystic pimples from pressure/friction and heat/moisture are common in the upper thigh area and can act similar to HS, but they are usually caused by friction and/or bacteria.

Try hot compresses, cleansing with antibacterial soap 2xdaily. Also if you soak in hot water and Epsom salt it may come to a head and burst and drain. Otherwise it may need to be lanced by a medical professional and possible antibiotics prescribed because it could be Staph or MRSA, although the latter is less likely.
