Does this look like melanoma?

Had this mole by my navel for many years. I don't really pay attention to it. I am not sure if it's recently got bigger but Dr has said he will refer me anyway. Has anyone had anything similar which turned out to be ok?

It looks fairly even and there are no rough edges or jet black areas. I would say it is fine but that is just my opinion. Get it checked if you want to be sure.

i once had a large black mole on my toe that was almost certain was melanoma but after i got it biopsied it came back negative. after that i learned a person generally has about only a 2% chance of a mole ever turning into melanoma in their lifetime. of course that can vary from person to person but not too dramatically. I would watch it and see if any changes occur. if

Thanks for your replies. I suffer with health anxiety so will struggled to think of anything else until my appt comes through which will be 5 to 6 weeks. I have attached another photo where the skin is stretched flat as it's on my tummy. image

I think it looks fine, but health anxiety is your issue, so it won't matter what I say. Look, we are all going to die one day, but what do you have to gain from wasting the precious seconds worrying about something that probably won't ever happen. Put on a comedy you like, make a cup of tea and embrace the day. It will all be OK 😃
