I would strongly urge you to ask your GP to organise some spirometry tests as soon as possible, which will indicate whether or not there's a possibility of you having COPD.  In my case, initial spirometry tests did show that was a possibility and I was then referred to a pulmonary consultant at my local hospital, who then organised for more in depth lung function tests, followed by a CT scan, which showed extensive lung damage and a nodule on one of my lungs.  I've since had a PET/CT scan and will get the full results next Monday.  I had, for many years, ignored my worsening lung function, believing it was just due to my previously diagnosed 'mild asthma'.  I am now 53 and have some irreversible damage to my lungs that could have been prevented if I had taken action a lot sooner.  Hopefully, you have age on your side.  Do whatever you have to do to be seen as soon as you can by experts who can help you.  It's good that we have this sort of chat forum to support each other, but we can only speculate about what may be wrong ... you need to see 'lung disease' experts to get proper answers.  Good luck though.  Hope you get the help you need. Sheryl.
