Does this sound like cushings.?

Ive recently found out that my pituitary gland is bigger than what it should be, and im terrified that im dying as i dont feel well at all.

I have researched and it seems i do have slight symptoms of crushings disease:

Lump on back of neck which ive had for years, really tired, fatigued, really down, weakness, achy feelings, irritable, headaches, acne, dizzyness, memory loss where i forget what im saying , im sure my face has got rounder, and i also have gained weight.

I had just had blood tests on thyroid and glucose levels.

But right now i feel so ill and im pretty sure im going to die soon.

Im having another mri on my gland in 10 days.

Is it too late now if it is cushings? Someone please help....

Glad that Andrew has replied to you.  But you must most definitely see an Endocrinologist and have all the various tests done.  I do hope that you will find an answer soon.

Emily I really think that you  must ask to see an endocrinologist.  As Gill so rightly said write down all your symptoms.  Then the endocrinologist can arrange for tests to be done to set your  mind at rest.

The doctor said he will talk to his collegues. However if he chooses not to send me i will be going back to explain my situitation.

well done you.  Don't give up.  The trouble is that none of the "experts" in Cushings have ever had the dreaded disease so have no idea how it really makes you feel.  If your Mum doesnt want to go with you perhaps you could take a friend?

Everyone around me believes that there is nothing wrong; even my boyfriend which annoys me as he just doesnt seem to understand either. It doesnt help that i have been through so many diseases thinking i have them such as; brain tumours, cancers, ALS. Which definitley doesnt help my situation as they all think its just my mind. bur woth some tests that are coming out abnormal such as thyroid and liver it cant be all in my head.

Hi Vicky,Just get your doctor to listen to your fears, and see your list of symptoms. As Vicky said, take a friend with you for support. You need to be reassured one way or the other, otherwise you'll worry yourself silly.Gill

Hi Emily,  That is good news.  Don't worry just tell them all you are worried about.  Take someone with you so they can make notes, its a lot to take in sometimes.  Be brave it is better to know IF anything is wrong, then you can face it.  Let us all now how you get on.

Okay i will do. Im thinking of writing all my symptoms down too. Tbh i dont really want to take my mum in with me because then i wont get to say everything i want to say and she buts in with telling them that doctors have said its all anxoety so then they wont do tests.

I know but shes controlling. If i spoke to her about medication for anxiety she would go mental at me because she doesnt believe that people can have mental disorders. She thinks i can just snap out of it. Shes thinks that illness is when you are in agony and that people with mental illnesses should be sectioned. She doesnt want me to ruin her image and she turns everything back on her. Shes one of those mums who thinks that just becaise someone is feeling down, it means they are lazy. She gets me so mad to the point where ive ended up throwing things at her.

Instead of creating a new post, ill just post it here.

Ive been to see the endocrinologist today who was extremely nice. He first started off by asking if i knew why i was there.

I had my blood pressure which was 130 something over 60 something. Is this in the normal range?

He then said that my gland was very slightly enlarged like mm enlarged but he is checking all the hormones and is going to give me a check up every 6 months. After the 15 minute appointment i went straight from there to another bit in the hospital to have bloods taken. All of this was fairly quick.

He then said that if there are any problems with the bloods then he will further investigate but i shouldnt be worried about the enlarged gland.

Im glad its finally being sorted amd that hes actuaky understanding and doing everything he can to make sure i'm okay. The doctors at my local doctors are really bad, apart from one who sent me to the endo. It was noce to just sit and talk to someone who knows everything about glands so i came out a little bit happier rather than worrying
