Does tinnitus develop in right ear (only) if one had an head injury on the left side of the head

Hi,

I had a head injury on the left side of my head (someone hit me hard multiple times on the left side of my head). And now I am having tinnitus in my right ear. Could the tinnitus be caused because of the injury in my left side head ?

Yes possibly. Being punched in the head makes the whole brain and fluid components in other organs including the ear vibrate and rattle around. If it continues or gets worse see your doctor or an ENT consultant.

      Hi Maria,

the tinnitus in my right ear is present for more than 6 months. when I bend my head down, the tinnitus ringing noise increases. And also the tinnitus noise is pulsating. Can it be cured ?

      Thanks

As I said before you need to see an ENT consultant who can run some tests. If you are in UK see your GP who can refer you.Your tinnitus needs to be investigated before any relief can be advised. In any discussion with a doctor or consultant you must say that this has happened after a blow to the head. That is important.
