Don’t be fooled Estradiol is a drug and coming ‘off’ it is HELL!

I decided to rip my patch off after 6 weeks as it was making me feel ‘weird’ ‘not myself’ . I thought it would bring me  ‘back to the old me ‘ but it was a ‘different me’ I wasn’t happy with . It did alleviate some of the symptoms but not the low feeling ...

Anyway,  I’m seeing now that it is a drug I’m having the worst time with severe depression and crippling  fatigue ... boy I had no clue that coming off it after only 6 weeks would be this bad ... imagine if you’re on it for years ????  Dangerous !!

Lori, if it affected that badly then you should have stopped it immediately. It will take about a month for the effects to wear off, then you'll be on new symptoms but less likely depressed. Don't forget to take lots of vitamin d3 and a multivitamin. A B complex is also excellent. What kept me from getting any depression was taking loads of vitamin d3.

Thx! Im more depressed OFF it but ON it I just felt weird. It’s only been 6 weeks on it so hopefully won’t affect me too much . Trying to breathe through it... I have friends moaning about life boyfriends etc . It’s like you’ve got your health ! Once that’s taken from you like I have been for four months ! You’re screwed. Bloody menopause ! Never been through anything so weird and stressful in my life !

I hear you loud n clear Lori. I also gave it many tries, but you HAVE to listen to your body and you did, good for you.

Depression is a weird one..i believe we will be journeying on with this and it will ebb and flow but we won give up EVER.

I’ve still got HOPE Mauiblue ... I’m praying like a maniac lighting candles at home .. trying to be spiritual .

      Dont give up hope.

I think we just need to try and not resist or fought against.. so much because it doesn't help.

Try and go with it but know that its a process that will take a while, thats what im doing anyhow.

Yes trying to rearrange my life to cope with this .... it’s so tough though. Crave for the ‘old me ‘ back . Do we ever get ‘her’ back ? I’m not sure. Women on estradiol repeatedly say they got their life back ... but even on it didn’t feel like me .

Yes, you'll get it back, it's just a journey you need to get through but eventually you'll come back. Why not ask your doctor for a low dose birth control pill to see if that works? That's what I took. HRT didn't work for me but bcp's did. Keep telling yourself it's just another day of perimenopause into menopause. Keep it positive, take vitamin d3 and C and a vegetarian multivitamin.

I’m actually post meno now I believe by all my blood results so they won’t give you a BCP.
