Hi everyone,

I am on zoloft 50, it's been 4 weeks. Was starting to feel some what human again until two hours ago. Went to take a nap, was feeling good. Woke up and was hit with anxiety almost to and attack. I went and took my ativan, first time today. So my question is, what happened and did anybody else have this experience. Any comments would be appreciated.

    Hi Brenda,

I have come off Sertraline today after being on it for 4 weeks. The side effects were panic attacks, heart palpitations, anxiety, breathlessness. My GP has now put me on Citalopram 10mg from tomorrow. I hope this helps you.

Thanks Tony for replying. Let us know how your doing on Citalopram. I'm going to try and hang in there for another 4 weeks to see if it levels out. If not to the doctors I will go.

Yes !!  Tony let us know how you do on your new medication. Are you weaning off the Zoloft or just switching right over ?

      Hi Brenda,

I really hope it works out for you. I couldn't put up with them any longer, felt I was suffocating. The side effects were far far worse than my issues. Good luck. I will put my experiences with Citalopram on here in the near future.

I would get an appointment with your GP straight away. I was on them for 4 weeks with terrible side effects, just started 10mg Citalopram today. Good luck, don't suffer in silence.

      Hi Ida,

Know exactly how you feel. What's so crazy is that I do feel more level headed but this darn anxiety just won't give up. If it wasn't for my ativan, I'd probably would have gave up on this zoloft. . Just can't win for losing. I'm hoping there is a light at the tunnel. Have much are you taking. To be honest the first two to three weeks was horrible, they should put label on bottles stating that you will feel worse and can't tell you when you'll feel better lol. But talk to doc tell him how you feel.

Ida, know where your coming from. The doctors just don't understand what we're going through unless they have gone through it. I haven't had the lack of appetite, but the other symptoms are my worse enemy. But any way we have to try and be strong and hope that this will be our saving grace. And if not there has to be something else out there.
