Hey.  A few monthes ago I started with panic attacs and, bad anxiety and intrusive thoughts. After some resurce on the internet I came to the conclusion that I am in perimenopause, I have most of the other symptoms aswell. I went to my gp and she just prescribed something for the anxiety. After a while I went to a gyne and he did an ultrasound. He said I could be in perimenopause but he needs a hormone test to confim it and it came back normal. I don't know what to do anymore. I hope somebody can give me some advice or explain to me whar is going on.

Thank you very much.

ps. I am 41

    Hi Nonnie

first dont worry.. i was your age when i started peri.. what you had was a hormone blood test, FSH ... and... mine was same back then, i was peri but blood test was normal... heres why... your hormones are erractic, up and down all the time, and the blood test result is as you are in that day... so next day it could be different, this is normal, and difficult to get a peri result, as your hormones just havent dropped off enough for an accurate test result ... i bought some home test kits off ebay very cheap they are and monitoried it myself, at later times, you just wee on them, my doc said i was deffo peri and explained the problem of the test results, ask your doc for Vit B6 very good .. is needed and helps no end...

hope that helps, i am now just 50 been in peri 9 years natural route no HRT

    Hi NonnieDD,

Yes, this is the same thing that happened to me about 2-3 years ago.  My doctor said I was too young I am 44 now.  I am getting hot and then I cool down.  It last for 5-10 minutes then goes.  I have to schedule an appointment with a doctor again to see if I am perimenopause.  Sometimes the symptons are related to other things as well.  I sometimes been under a lot of pressure and think it might have been stress too.  I feel that doctors may misdignose people as well since it may have the same symptons as other things.

Hi Nonnie ..I agree with Jay...hang in there it is peri menapause , the anxiety is a pain, I hate when it hold me back, especially when you are so independent..it just kills that I let the panic rule..it really has no power and that I am the one who feeds into it. A few things that have helped is good diet..clean eating I know it is hard because "good" food is so expensive...meditation which can sometimes be just a few mininte of quiet time .yoga..walking ...definietly good freinds and laughter and most important this page...because we are all going through it and we will all mangage on and what Jay says..B-6 will help too. I think too when we go through big changes in our lives it triggers some of these symptoms like change of job..moving, losing a loved one an so on...hang in there we are all here for you!!!

Hi.   Thank you Lisa and all the other ladies who replied. I think I've been in peri for a few years now, because my periods was normal, and then they became very heavy. They were so bad that I was almost afraid to leave the house.  I've been drinking alot of evening primrose oil for a while, so I think that is why I didn't notice most of the simptomes I am feeling now.  In March of  this year there did happen something that trigard a panic attack and the anxiety after that. I've stop using all my meds including the eving primrose oil and I think that wasn't wise. I made a printout of all the symptoms I've been feeling and the one doc told me it is symptoms of menopause and the other one said I am to young.

After 5 years of heavy flow my periods changed again. The days of my periods is shorter and the flow isn't so heavy anymore and my cycle is shorter.

Yesterday I did bought Femolene extra strengh for menopause and one of the ingredients is B6. I've also been using Primeve, that is evening primrose oil and magnesium. They said the magnesium helps for anxiety and the other thing that came across, is that you must eat something before you get out of bed. That is sepouse to keep your bloodsuger levels from dropping because that can also cause anxiety.

Ok, that was a mouth full but thank you for reading.

      Love

      Hi Nonnie

yes magnesium is a must... my doc said ages ago Calcium and Vit D vital for bone weakness and so years ago i took Calcium / Magnesium mix from Biovea UK web, and seperate Vit D, then i found NateCal which is the Calcium and D3 mix in one tablet, so changed and went on them, and wow the day time flushes returned, i didnt understand why, i am in year 9 of peri and my hot flushes stopped ages ago, then, after having up to 20 flushes a day yes 20 a day, i realised these hot flushes returned after stopping magnesium, so i now take a effervescent magnesium with potassium and drop on glass of water and drink, and flushes have more of less gone.. so magnesium very good, I dont know about them sorting anxiety, but B6 100mg to 150mg sorts out anxiety, aches, headaches, and depression, feelings of doom,  etc, also helps maintain good weight as turns carbs into energy, my energy is fine now, and all my awful symtoms gone, and it the B6.,, even my Doc prescribed B6 in very early peri, but didnt explain the benefits then, so never went back for more, and now wish i had...  as after much research this B6 we lack big time, causing Lot of our symptoms and wow my life is great again, must be taken everyday, no missing and it works very quickly.. after a week.. good luck..
