I'm currently on effexor (for depression) and propronolol ( for anxiety) but I don't even think they work at all I'm panicking 24/7 and still self harm and try to end it by overdosing and have had to go to hospital countless times I'm just stuck on what to do with my life ATM I have two children which I know should be my passion to get better but i just can't carry on like this I know no-one can or will help me !!

Hey Liam,
Right ....So you are depressed? And your on alot of meds which are leading you to overdose. Have you spoken with your psychiatrist about taking you off medication? Drugs arent for everyone and cognitive therapy only works if your willing to work it. It takes time to have a paradigm shift . It is not something like a pill that only truly puts a bandaid on it. Next I would say try to understand that depression is like a drug addiction to...you never quite get rid of it and have to learn to live with it just dont give it so much power. If you already have the answer to all the remedies for depression that are out there then nobody can help you. Keyword 'You'. I wish you luck in riding yourself of the bondage of self.

How are you doing? If you've tried a lot of different medication and they all don't work for you, I'd recommend you transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS). Transcranial magnetic stimulation is a noninvasive procedure that uses magnetic fields to stimulate nerve cells in the brain to improve symptoms of depression. TMS is typically used when other depression treatments haven't been effective. For each TMS session the patient sits in a specially designed treatment chair. As TMS uses magnetic pulses, then the TMS coil will be positioned over the patient’s head. The TMS physician then measures the patient’s motor threshold, by administering several brief pulses. Patients are required to wear earplugs during treatment for their comfort and hearing protection, as TMS produces a loud clicking sound with each pulse, much like an MRI machine. The patient can stop a treatment at any time by asking the staff member present.
