Hello Ladies !

Up until recently I just knew I had Linchin's , just by reading everyones comments and symptoms however I had a Biopsy done recently and recieved my results two days ago and it came back as sporiasis (not sure about spelling) and NOT Linchin's To God be the Glory because nobody wants to hear bad news especially when it comes to our health. When I went for my Biopsy, my GYNO put me on Clobetasol cream because I had the itching and patches so she wanted to get me stated just in case . Since applying the cream , the itching has completely stopped and feels as though Im healing fast and sure. So my point is Ladies, for the ones who are patiently waiting for there biopsy or are scared to get tested, DON'T BE!! A lot of times we scare ourselves just because we have some symptoms that ppl have who have scary diseases or disorders and it just might not be the case. Everyone take care of yourselves and God Bless!

HI there Brenda, I don't know what you've read about the nutritional aspect of lichen sclerosus, but my white patches have all gone away in the last year from having taken a whole slew of supplements that I built up a routine around after researching online. If you or anyone is interested please feel free to go to my discussions list by clicking on my name and find the ones about nutrition the tab on the right. oh and the one about aloe vera gel.. that has really helped in soothing itching and patches... Be well.

Dear JCPT - Hi. That's helpful info, thanks.

But just to let you know, psoriasis is also an autoimmune disease as well as Lichen sclerosus. So anything you choose to do to strengthen your immune system and to change your diet as you'll find on here and elsewhere will aid both diseases. blessings,

JC, not everyone who has Lichen Sclerosis has terrible symptoms. For instance I have LS but no itching. Steroid cream works pretty well for most of us who have it, just as it has worked for you. I'm not sure what the technical difference is between the two diseases, but I think of mine as psoriasis in a particularly sensitive place. Apparently it must look different under a microscope, but I haven't gotten that far into it.

Some people have very bad cases of psoriasis on various parts of their bodies and some have very bad cases of LS or have bad flare ups is probably more accurate. Typically when that happens they use more of the steroid until they return to their baseline.

Has your doctor told you what the difference is between LS and psoriasis on the genitals? I'd be very interested in hearing that. There may be women who think they have LS but like you have psoriasis.

    Thanks.
