Don't want to leave house much

Ive had anxiety for a few years now but lately it seems to be getting worse. The only time i feel at peace is when im isolated in my bedroom away from people but several of my family members keep telling me to just go out more and socialise and they dont understand how difficult that has become for me. Does anyone have any solutions to help me get out of the house more.

Think about some therapy Jess that may get your confidence up a bit and teach you how to deal with anxietycry

Hi Jessica I agree with Lynne about the therapy. My anxiety was so bad for about 3 months the only places I went were A&E or my GP. I go to therapy now and even manage to go on my own. It's all baby steps. Start with just being in the garden for a few minutes at a time, for a few days maybe or longer, then maybe a wee visit to your local shop or a five minute walk round the block or just along your street. I felt my house was the only safe zone for me but I realise through doing little things and going out for maybe just five minutes at a time nothing bad happened to me and I can go out for a bit longer each time, it's not easy but I don't want to be consumed by my anxiety, it was ruling my life.Very best of luck, Stay strong, you will get there. cheesygrin

Do you have a therapist, a counsellor, or someone who is trained to help?

I just quit my job because of depression/anxiety. I've been sitting in my room for three days now . All I can say is talk to someone and keep your head upsmile
