I have been dealing with post for many years and now I have to be honest, I'm done.sure I have other issues but pps has gotten worse each year. The first 40 years of my life I never took anything for the pain during the work day of after work. Hot bath and massage that's it. Those don't work anymore but massage does temporarily ease cramping. I'm 65 going on 66 and am seriously considering just ending my miserable life. Maybe living in heaven will be better....
Thanks, jack

I am so sorry you feel so badly. Please do not end your life. Have you tried everything to ease your pain? I used to have so much pain, and often felt like ending my life I hurt so much. I am very lucky my doctor hit on a drug which has helped a huge amount, and I have very little pain now, thankfully.
When I told a friend I wanted to end my life, he said, if you do that you will not go to heaven....
Please think about seeing your doctor, if you have not already, or writing back to me on here. I do know how hard it is, please do write again Jack - I shall be worrying about you.

Hello Marion,
Thank you for your concern I talked to someone yesterday and I think I'm going to find a care giver that has open mind. It used to be that my wife Did alot for me but even though she still feeds me does basic needs stuff, I haven't been anywhere ifor alot of years. Just siton couch. My back, arms ect cramp all the time but insurance won't cover massage itherapy . I need that to find relief. I'm going to look in my area. I am just so tired of pain, I don't want

Pain is really tiring, sleep whenever you are able to - I do not sleep well, and it does not help. If you are able to sleep during the day, that is good. You are doing well Jack - don't give up, please.

Great to hear from you. I am 73 - I am often told I look younger, but I often feel much older!! Lovely to see the sun.
Last week I went to Suffolk for the first time, probably the last - it was sooooo cold and windy. I live in Surrey and I prefer it here! Where are you?
Good to hear you sounding a little better...

Hi jack82755
We note from a recent post which you have made to our forum that you may be experiencing thoughts around self-harm. If we have misinterpreted your comments then we apologies for contacting you directly. But if you are having such thoughts then please note that you are not alone in this, and there are people out there that can help.
If you are having these suicidal thoughts then we strongly recommend you speak to someone who may be able to help. The Samaritans offer a safe space where you can talk openly about what you are going through. They can help you explore your options, understand your problems better, or just be there to listen.
Their contact details are on our patient information leaflet here: https://patient.info/health/dealing-with-suicidal-thoughts, which also offers lots of other advice on how you can access the help you may need.
If you are having such thoughts then please do reach out to the team at the Samaritans (or the other people detailed in our leaflet) who will understand what you're going through and will be able to help.
Kindest regards
Patient

The above says it all, but I do understand how old polio pains can lead to depression, so if you just want to message another individual, please do write again. People do worry about you....

I’m still plodding on, still trying to find the joy in life. I’m enjoying time spent with my grandchildren.
We recently visited your area. It’s beautiful. We saw Windsor Castle, Hampton Court and other lovely places. You’re lucky to live in such a gorgeous area.

I think most of us experience depression occasionally .... I do. No-one can tell you what to do, or how to react. All I can offer are suggestions of things that help me. I read a lot to keep me busy. I spend most days lying on my bed! It’s easier on my back. I also like to drive to the seaside whenever I can. I love to breathe in the sea air... it makes you feel alive.
Please seek advice and maybe have some counselling or pain management if you continue to feel bad. Ask for help. I’m certain that there’ll be lots of support for you in your area.
Good luck to you, Jack. In happy to chat again if it helps you.

Lovely to hear from you. Jack sounds rather sad - I like your message to him. I think we all feel depressed at times. I had a very bad breakdown when my Mum died 15 years ago, and have had a few bad times since. As I said to Jack the continuous pain is enough to make anyone depressed, and it is so very tiring. Oh to be young again.....
I mentioned to Jack I went to Suffolk last week, so I saw the sea, lovely but sooooo cold.
Let us hope we all improve now the summer seems to be close.
All the best, Marion x
