Hello everyone, just wanna share my strory here. I was diagnosed in 2012 cholleliasis and Cholleliatitis in 2013. But I was so affraid to get an op. Although 2 doctors said i should get it out. So some years I only maintained my diet to keep my gb calm. Then in 2018 I flew to Guangzhou (Iam from Indonesia btw) got info from internet and asked some advices to some people who successed get op there that only hospital in Guangzhou can only take out the stones without remove my gb that I've got so far. I told to my surgery doctor about this but he didnot know about this procedures (cholelitoctomy). I like to attached a pic of my stones and scan ultrasound before and after but seems the size is too big.
But anyway if you may, please search in internet with key word nogallstones to find the site. Just info in my case seems like not a 100 % success because I feel the stone is reforming. My stones is hundreds, black like charcoal, small like sand. There was a patient from another country who stayed beside my room at the hospital in guangzhou her stone is giant, green yellow, but only one stone. It also can do by this procedures even polyp. You all in the forum can check the site out and study it hope this can be an alternative for you who is not willing missing part of your organ or if you think or through usg your gb still can be saved.
Wishing you all the best.

too risky to go to a country outside of the usa for surgery. also, as much as it is risky to get the gallbladder out, it is also risky to keep it once it is causing problems.
my friend's husband's gallbladder ruptured and he nearly died and he had no idea he had gallstones. he thought it was a kidney stone that was causing his pain, so he took tylenol and drank cranberry juice for some days and refused to go to the dr to get checked out. he ended up at ER days later, nearly dead, from the rupture and had to be cut open and stayed in hospital for 2 weeks to treat the damage of bile leaking into his abdominal cavity.
it sucks either way. but for me, no way will i ever go to a foreign country for any surgery. it is bad enough i worry here in usa let alone a foreign country. but for those who are brave... good luck.

i have to agree with blanca in totality.
and that opp to remove the stone alone is not viable , as the stones will return almost for sure, i done much research on that opp which originates from china.
its to risky , if it needs to come out get it out asap.

You have not researched the method of dissolution of stones which your short post condemns out of hand any method of gall stone removal and you confirm wrongly that =out with the gall bladder is the only way forward........ It most certainly is not the only way forward because I am the proof and there are no doubt thousands of others who will not bother to contribute to this forum due to uneducated drivel.

There are always good and bad, success and unsuccess stories.
We always looking the best way that we think it suit us.
If it can be saved supported by medical result then why not we consider the other option, if the gb is too sick (too inflamed, already thickened more 5mm) to be saved then we have no choice.

micklamus.
theirs only one person here talking drivel my friend and it is not i.
i had suffered immense agony with my gallbladder i researched franticly worldwide to the edge of madness.
i know everything about that procedure and every other .
please by all means put me to the test funny educated guy.
i tried and researched everything , i was terrified to have my gallbladder removed right to the point it turned gangrene and i only gave in once told i had hours to live by one of the very best surgeons their is mr charles imber.
no you go do your research and stop with the drivel of false hope and putting peoples lives at risk with yr misinformation.
the specialists in this field have been trying to find an alternative to gallbladder removal for decades ,only so far to , keep coming back to removal being the best treatment known to date, and thats exactly why thats the procedure of choice.
who are you , who do think you are .
you are a joke, not a specialist consultant with decades of operations under your belt. its because of people like you that near died.
i would strongly advise no one and i quote no one to listen to this persons advise. and please listen to the advise of the professionals ie your consultant and your medical teams as its their field of expertise and not that of mr micklamus.

You've add many items that I have not said. I did say that all treatment should be under medical supervision. In a broad spectrum rant you have avoided across the board that some of us have eradicated gall stones without surgery.
I remember a while ago you predicted that all those who have successfully eradicated stones by dissolution will have their stones return. Please state the evidence that confirms your statement....... If you have researched the subject of Ursodeoxycholic acid dissolution of gall stones of type then I say you have not researched it enough. have you

You are one in thousands who have sought alternative treatment and succeeded in keeping your gall bladder. Credit is due to you. I dissolved my gall stones with the help of one of the finest digestive tract surgeons. My GP's would not prescribe Ursodeoxycholic acid treatment due to them lacking in education re that treatment..... Once he had prescribed the course of treatment they had to repeat it. My symptoms were bad enough that made me think a person with two days of the sickness I had all night long would want to be shot.
As it is three years later I still have a good gall bladder with I feel no stones in it. It is my annual doctors review and I can have an ultra sound of my gall bladder if I request one.
Incidentally but importantly, might you ask a specialist about the taking of a low dose of Ursodeoxycholic acid which is said to PREVENT gall stones of type forming in those who are prone to gall stones?
Also important is the advice to take not the slightest notice of those scare mongers who know very little about the complexities of gall bladders and the organs that are attached to it. But do carefully research what might be excellent for you yourself.

as for you sir, its very early days, what will happen is your stones will return as from my research not a single person who has had the procedure has not gone on to then have to have theirs removed at a later date as their gallbladder has continued to produce stones sadly . i wish you luck for your future operation anyhow.
