Yesterday was my 4th week with zoloft...2 at 25mg and 2 at 50mg.
Take it around lunch time.
I feel soo tired. Sleep almost 8 hours but I dont even feel rest in morning. I wake up almost space or zombie like. And have the internal shakes. Anxiety is still there.
Im afraid it doesnt work!???

I feel totally desperate and almost depresse today due to those side effects and symotoms. Its almost like they are getting worse since 2 weeks. Have headache also.
Its my third time on zoloft. First one a couple of years ago and it worked for 4 years.
Second was last summer but stopped at 100mg because of digestion issues after 3 months.
I had different med since a year because its like all of a sudden, my body doesnt tolerate them anymore.
Previous to zoloft, i tried prozac for 4 months and was so drugged on it so for the first time since 11 years of taking AD, we tried to tapered. I managed to go as low as 5mg but didnt feel well. So we direct switched to zoloft 25mg.
What is wrong with my body ? Why dont I tolerate meds? My nervous system feels all messed up! Am I going to be back to something?
Doc said if this one doesnt work, she wont attemped another AD. That scares me a lot!
Is it normal that my symptoms seems to get more intense after 4 weeks? 2 weeks into 50?

If the 4th week doesn't show any sign of improvement, I will definitely tell your doctor to prescribe Escitalopram, I was on Zoloft for 4-Month and it didn't do anything for me except made me feel worse, I've been on Escitalopram for 9 weeks now and I feel like being myself again. Hope it will work for you. Good luck!

Hi,
Going off my own experience you need to give sertraline at least 6-8 weeks to feel better. You only started on 25mg for 2 weeks, then 2 weeks at 50mg which isnt really giving your body time to adjust. 50mg is the minium dose GP's normally start you off on.
I was only ever on 50mg, currently weaning myself off them (was only on 12 weeks) as they did not agree with my stomach and sent me dashing to loo several times a day. I used to take mine in the morning with breakfast. My mood actually lifted after a couple of weeks but the anxiety remained till about the 8 week mark, bit of a roller coaster ride!
Yes you can feel 'zombified' but it does get better once your brain has had time to adjust. Stick with it for at least another 4 weeks at 50mg and if you feel no better by then go back to your GP and discuss other meds.
Unfortunatley, sertraline does not work immediately and it can be that you will have a few rough weeks but stick with it and see how you go.
Good luck.

I really feel like my brain will explose right now. Feel anxious and dizzy. I have to say that my periods are about to start soon so that might play a role.
But I know my brain has to adapt but its painful right now.

I appreciate your reply...
Do you think its 6 to 8 weeks since the first dose or since the last dose increased?
These past days I deal with higher level of anxiety, exhaustion, shakiness or trembling inside, neck tensions, headache and feel like space out.
Hope its only because that means zoloft is making some effects after those 2 weeks at 50mg and not because its not working.
I am also just starting my periods and my symptoms seems increased with it.
I try not to take my clonazepam during the day cause Ive been on it since a year and a half at about 0.25mg per day and hate to be dependant on that.
Once I feel better, hope I will be able to get off that without to much trouble.
