Personally, I would do as much research as possible before going down the surgery route.Surgery can disturb nerves further. Doctors are not very keen on discussing side effects and when you press them to do so, they often fob you off. My doctor fobbed me off when I listed my concerns about taking low dose anti depressants for my neuropathy. The problem is that surgery is a normal every day thing for hospital doctors but each one of us will react differently and it is not so routine for everyone. It's s case of weighing up the risks and benefits for you.
Anything medical is a nightmare for me because my immune system responds so aggressively when disturbed by medications, surgery and supposedly routine scans and tests.Part of my neuropathy was caused by a medical mistake that was easily preventable, so for me, leaving well alone is the best option to avoid further damage.
