Dosage for diabetic neuropathy

I've been on Gabapentin for over a year for diabetic neuropathy, and the dosage hasn't changed (300 mg three times a day).  My pain has got much worse recently, and towards evening my feet and my fingers really hurt.  Can I increase my dose?
