dose increase, side effects and how bad, how long

I'm been on 50mg for 8 weeks now, I feel it's stopped working as mornings now are becoming difficult. Feeling tired, no drive, my mood has definitely dropped, so I think I may have to see doc to increase my dose. I'm concerned about the side effects though, how long, but really, how bad is my main concern. Starting on sertraline was not nice. Any help and guidance on this would be great.

hi I was put on 50mg serts first time on meds in Jan. 6 wks in gp decided to up to 100mg . I was very worried due to side affects I had on 50 so chose a 24 to start it that wasn't so manic ie Feb half term. to start with I had no additional affects but day 10/11 I woke anxious but carried on with my day went to the gym and felt ok. I am now around 6 wks on 100mg and feel pretty much normal apart from being more self aware on warning signs and then slow down a bit. Each person is different but I am sure you will be fine ☺

Thank you Natalie, that's comforting, I had tried to go up to 75 4 weeks ago and couldn't cope with it but it may simply have not settled in to my system at that time, it was worse than starting on the meds. Now may be easier.

Hi Robert I'm currently on 200mg daily i personally found when I went from anything higher than 50mg it takes that bit longer to adjust I also find the side effects vary hugely depending on the time of day you take sertraline, mornings always work best for me. I've found that none of the side effects feel any where near as bad as when I first started taking the medication.
