Double Marsupiliation

Hi everyone,

Well I'm on day 5 of my bilateral marsup. That's right two! On each side done at the same time. I've had very little bleeding and mostly the pain feels like the two areas rubbing which makes it hard to walk or sit. I've been doing sitz baths and antibiotic creams and lidocaine. Hopefully my post op appt goes well tomorrow.

My only concern at this point is that it was unsuccessful. I feel the same area hard on one side. I'm hoping it's just swelling from the surgery but I guess I'll find out tomorrow.

Sending love to all you ladies who are dealing with this crap. We need better studies done on this. Woman's health is such a huge field and Bartholin cysts seems like it has no answers. There has to be some better way then lancing our vaginas and leaving holes on our labia. We are all very frustrated with having barely any answers or options. Sorry for the rant but I've been so stressed over this for so long.

It will definitely take some more time to heal. I had this done last year and it was unsuccessful for me, and 3 cysts later within the year led me to a gland excision. I am 6 weeks post-op tomorrow, stitches have not dissolved and they are the only thing bothering me from time to time. I rarely had pain. With my marsup, I had my 9 stitches for a total of 8 weeks and the pain was mostly just from them rubbing on the other side when walking and working.

Agreed on the studies. I am hopefully done with this nightmare but it really gets to me that there's absolutely no research and this is such a common problem. They don't even know why it happens - I have cried myself to sleep over these so many times because it's so frustrating.
