Doubting my doctors diagnosis

Three and half month I was at my OB/gyn for CIN treatment. At the same time I explained my (other) symptoms - painful intercourses (often, but not every time), stinging while urinating or just at random times, itching and frequent small scratches … I have actually been to my GP with this, and the answer was always - yeast infection (though the treatment rarely worked). My OB/gyn diagnosed it as lichen sclerosus and pointed it out to her medical student.

When I came home, I googled LS and the first thing you find: LS = white shiny patches. Which I generally not experience, I may have some whiteness to my perineal area, but otherwise not … well I think, based on my own assessment. I can not really see what my OB/gyn pointed at. I should have asked, but the only I thing, I was focusing on, was getting out of the room 😅

A few weeks later I went to my GP because I experienced anal fissures I just could not get rid of (usually I just wait them out, but I guess it was time) and I sort of wanted a second opinion. At first glance at my vulva she was like “hmm I can’t see… Oh there!”. (I got the feeling that it was more a “fake it to you make situation”) … I do not know. I just feel like it does not fit 🤔

My vulva is generally fine looking, which the OB/gyn noticed at my three months-follow up two weeks ago. Though she still recommended using dermovat (clobetasol) once a week.

I just do not want to use steroids for no reason?

English is not my first language, if there is anything confusing, that is probably the reason (sorry).
