I am so sorry Sammysue, that to me is not right. I cannot live without taking pain mess right now. Your stress in your body is worse and could lead to more problems if the pain is that unbearable. Fight for this, do your research on this and do not give up. I get it and I feel for you so much.

Hi Sammysue, don't know where you live but, as far as I'm aware, here in UK they couldn't do that. For starters you have to be eased off this type of medication, you just can't suddenly stop taking them.

mWhy are you having such pain this long after surgery?  Did the Drs explain?  I'm in the US, and Drs. here are pulling back on pain meds, gradually.  Is there anything "over the counter" you can try?  I used extra-strength Tylenol, but only take as recommended.  Also v. good is Extra strength Excedrin.  Both have acetaminophen which can destroy your liver.

I had dual total knee replacement and, later, level 8 spine fusion.  I threw the opiates away and just used Excedrin in both cases.  Which is why I don't understand why you are now in pain.  Again, what do the doctors say?

see, this annoys the living crap out of me. People who have PROOF that there are issues and are in pain cannot get pain medications, but i knwo people who get pain medications like it's damnn candY!!!! I had to fight 10 months to get any pain meds and i never got any. only after surgery. I went to a pain management clinic and he said because im 26 he wont give me anything for pain. then drops me as a patient after saying "wow, your back is terrible, you have a back of an 80 year old... has your surgeon talked to you about a fusion?" This crap is so BACKWARDS. I'm so so so sorry you are going through this and i HOPE they give you SOMETHING!
