I've been struggling with anxiety..I'm not on any meds for it but feel like I need to be, but everytime I take any kind of antidepressants I feel weird..and more anxious..and just feel crazy! It just started with chest pain..where I thought I was having heart attack..it has now moved to my ribs and back under shoulder blades..it feels like really sore muscles all the time..I'm out of breath very easy and started burbing alot more..about 2 months ago my left leg started hurting first under my butt cheek/ thigh. Then started feeling like I can't lift my leg. Almost like i have a pulled muscle but it kind if has a numbing sensation I Just feel so weak.

I've had a couple of broken ribs 15 yrs ago..my right elbow has had a really bad break when I was 5..can't straighten it all the way..def have arthritis in elbow..and 20 yrs ago was in a car that flipped upside and my back has hurt ever since..I didnt go to dr after crash..recently had spine xray and it was ok..this has been a struggle..right now we r redoing a home and still have to move after that..I know this stress is not helping..I've stopped drinking caffeine, stopped smoking and vaping after 2 yrs..got my eyes checked, and got glasses thinking that was y I was having anxiety and the pain was from stress..I'm so scared that I am going to die from stress and from thinking constantly about what this could b and what if..what if I pass out..what if what if..Im driving myself crazy..My husband is sportive but is getting tired..he says u haven't died yet..the dr says it is fibermyalgia but I just don't know..I feel like it's an easy out.

I feel your pain. I don't know what I have, I have been sent out to physical therapy for costo, she says I have thoracic outlet syndrom.

I'll start with the beginning of my story. I work for a newspaper company, supposed to be a desk job but more often than not I ran paper routes. The week of Thanksgiving I had just finished running a route for 6 months. One night I got chest pains, severe arm and shoulder pain felt sick to the stomach. I chalked it up as a bug. Week goes by wasn't feeling any better so I went to a prompt care clinic. They checked me for everything there, sent me to the emergency room. I went to the ER had 5 EKG, blood work and chest xrays. All blood work xrays and EKG was normal. Said I had Gerd and anxiety/panic. Made an appointment with my regular doctor for after first of year. I had some things that needed cleared up on my xray so he referred me out for a CT Scan and a tuberculosis test. I went to the ER 2 more times and back to the doctors office 3 more times, all normal blood work EKG etc etc. One appointment they changed my diet started me on a PPI prescription for Gerd. Second appointment did H. Pylori blood test checked my thyroid all normal. CT scan in February showed everything was normal with my heart and arteries and lungs with no contrast dye. Back to ER 2 more times all normal work up, they said I am extremely stressed and anxiety I was referred to a psychologist and therapist. I was put on zoloft it made me have panic attacks for 3 days straight. Back to Doctor. He keeps evaluating my shoulder. Went to ER 3more times in 1 week for back pain and tender spine with chest pains 2 days in a row for heart palpitations. I went back to my doctor I am now wearing an event monitor for a month. Still have chest pains, pressure, feel short winded and the palpitations have calmed down. I started seeing a psychologist for cognitive behavior therapy. But I want my doctor to tell me why I hurt all the time. When it's cold it's worse, lifting hurts. I lay in bed 95% of the time I feel like I'm going crazy because I don't feel that I have any answers yet. Just referred out time and time again. I think I have costo I have stabbing pain under my left breast where my bra sits my shoulder blades ache my arms ache my legs ache my back aches. I feel like I have no life anymore because I have no definitive answers. Pain med don't work. I take 800 MG of ibuprofen every 4 hours I was given diclofenac and one look at those side effects I threw them in the garbage.

I have used muscle relaxers, muscle rubs, chiropractic care and still feel the same. I have good days but lately I have more bad. I don't eat well, my stomach stays so upset with indigestion. I have cut back my caffeine and cigarettes still the same results.

I just want a 100% answer on why I feel like I do.

Hi billie38069 I was diagnosed with Acute Costo in Oct, 2015.  I was diagnosed my 1st visit to the Dr. He had experiance with this issue so I wouldnt say I was lucky but I know what Im dealing with, well kinda. I had NEVER heard of this condition before and until you do its hard to understand. The pain for me is mostly on my right side, like you wearing a bra is uncomfortable. I have a couple bra's that are larger than I need because I found they help keep things in place without too much added discomfort. The pain runs from my upper ribs over to my shoulder and around my back. And the ache is terrible.  I started out on Diclofenac but they did nothing to help. Im currently on Naproxen 500mg 2x a day but nothing stops the pain. Like you I have bad days and worst days. I asked my Dr about taking 1 sleep aid pill to help relax me and sleep but he prescribed a low dose muscle relaxer instead.  Im able to fall asleep but its only a matter of time and the ache wakes me up. I also used a back messager for the aches in my back. I cant stand the Dr or anything to touch my sore rib area its just to much pain. I too dont want to eat but I force what I can because I know those pills wont be good on an empty stomach. I try to drink alot of water. This has been a real life changer. Im 50 yrs old and have been in good health, until this. It changes everything. Ive had panic attacks, and just feel like Im living a nightmare. I try to stay positive and do very little to aggravate the condtion but it seems like life is passing me by.  It takes a toll on everything. I wish  the best for you and I hope by reading this that you find there are alot of us out here struggling like you. I found this forum accidently and Im so glad. I felt so alone because my extended family keeps thinking this will go away like a bad cold.. and If I hear "oh are  you still dealing with that?" again, I might scream!!! Take care

I Feel your pain. It's been two and a half weeks Since I first started feeling My chest pain. ER Visits With EKG Blood test Ultrasounds of my upper abdomenThyroid testing And I even had them check for blood clots.Since this has all started I have had Chest pressure And pain That shoots through my back Across my shoulder blades And up my spine That made my left arm go tingly. I've also had massive lower back pain that shot down both of my legs behind my knees That lasted for 2 days Then a random today Shooting pain in my calf That had no Rhyme or Reason to it. Currently as I'm writing this I'm having Chest pressure and my left leg is tingly. Family And doctors Seems like to thinks It's stress.I even had the GI cocktail at the hospital to check for indigestion. Basically I have come to the conclusion That I have Diagnose myself Through reading stories on the internet And doing my own research. I also have read That Gluten Is a inflammatory protein So I'm going to be cutting that out of my diet to see if anything changes.I would suggest the same to you As I have read Through lots of women's blogs That gluten has been linked to their chronic pain And has seem to subsided after they got diagnosed with celiac disease.Anyways best of luck to you I hope this helps

I too have been suffering since May 5th of last year. I've probably been to the er like 25+ times since then. I have constant chest pains and discomfort. I have a swelling over my left breast just under my collar bone as well. Now my pains are sharp like almost electric and have moved to both sides and breats and both sides of my rib cage into my shoulders. This has been awful and I have had to get rid of dr bc he said it was anxiety which is not 100%. I went to the er yet again on Friday night and they said they are gonna order a full upper ct scan so I hope something shows up! This is crazy and unfair that we have to live in this kind of scary pain and discomfort day in and day out. It has taken over my life and it needs to be stopped or at least tell me what it is and why. My leg too is also sore been since sept it was been sore. I don't know if it's related but I feel it is

I went back to the doctor today as well. He says I have chest wall pain and he is not sure why but this doctor says I do not have costochondritis. Now I am back where I started pain and no answers. My pain is in my shoulder blades and feels like it goes through to my chest. He said nothing about that. I had an exam where he pushed on my abdomen, ribs and sternum he then had me sit up and squeezed my rive from the sides and squeezed my sternum from front to back. He said he doesn't feel I have pneumonia or anything wrong with my lungs. I was prescribed Diclofenac for pain and told get off the ibuprofen I'm over medicating, I said yeah bc I hurt 24/7.

With a lump I would maybe ask your doctor about Teitze. Hope you get your CT quickly. I had one if my lungs and chest and got the all clear.

We sound very similar unfortunately sad it's awful! My pain was down for a bit after 7 mths but now for the last 7 days it's unreal again. Sharp pains , shooting pains and feeling like my ribs are being squeezed. Do you ever feel like that? It's so unfair that the Drs treat it like nothing and can't give answers. No one ever dianogned me with Costo officially either.

Update went back to the doctor on Wednesday for the pain. He says I do not have costochondritis but just chest wall pain. He wrote me a prescription for diclofenac sodium 75 MG twice a day. I started that medicine now I have pressure on top of my head with shooting pains into the forehead. It did not help the pain at all. I stopped it today.
