Dragging feeling and groin pain!

Posted , 10 users are following.

I'm post op by 13 weeks, I went back to work last week and this week I feel awful., I have a dragging down feeling inside, and my groin pain is so bad I've had to start taking naproxen again. I had a anterior and posterior repair with a pelvic floor repair. I also have very low and across my back pain. I an under a specialist monitoring my hip as I will in the future need hip replacement as I have osteoarthritis, so not sure where pain is coming from exactly. Also sex is painful still for both me and hubby, he feels something is still inside to one side and I feel the same at the same time, also he has received tiny scratches on end of his penis, should stitches of gone by now ??

Hello kim. Firstly all of your stitches probably haven't dissolved yet so that's why your husband has got these scratches and sex is painful. The sutures have usually all dissolved by around 16 weeks. The pai you describe is probably down to your repair and typical post op pain. Yes I know 13 weeks is a long time since the operation but not when it comes to prolapse repair. What job do you do and are you on your feet a lot?

Hi Kim I am 4.5 months post tvt and rectocele and still have a stitch I can feel. We had the same issue with hubby I'm afraid. I think it'll come out at some point but it does feel quite secure still, sorry it seems a long time I know. Prolapse takes lots of time so be good to yourself and take things very gradually with very small incremental steps x

As regarding the sutures, I have a same position. I'm 14 weeks post op. I went to the doctor and asked to cut/trim it because it made me discomfort. But the sutures were already inside skin so no successful.

Yours may be able to be cut by the doctor. Try it. Hope your pain will be less soon.

    Kim

im 11 weeks post op (posterior/anterior and pelvic floor repair) and sitting here with a hot water bottle on my belly because of the pain! I also have an arthritic hip and SI joint dysfunction which im having ablation on later this month. I have pain after opening my bowels too. Sex isn't too bad as long as I keep my legs down lol!! Anything too deep is very uncomfortable. I had my surgery laparoscopicly so no visible stitches although the scars I have on my belly are sore (as well as being numb all around). I hope you continue to recover x
