Dragging sensation:(

Posted , 6 users are following.

hoping that someone is around to reassure me, think this might be normal...I am now 5 weeks post surgery (I think I have read there can be more swelling in week 4 is this true of week5?) still taking it easy, doing a little more walking around but no lifting etc.

I had a period which finished 3 days ago. Since then I have felt the sort of sideways tampon feeling/dragging very high up in my vagina.  Just swelling?

Really hate not being able to see what is wrong or right.

Does this sound Normal?

Yes perfectly normal, don't worry. At five weeks some stitches may be loosening off and/ or coming out, and things start to drop into position.

Expect anything for the next few weeks, it's all part of the healing process.

I was the same, when you can't do a lot your mind goes into overdrive and every little thing becomes a big thing to worry about.😳

Hi mossup, yes it's normal. I'm still getting some swelling occasionally and I'm 7 weeks. It really is a case of one step forward two back with this recovery 😞Take care x

Twice in last 1.5 hours I have been at computer replying to you.  Both times, an ad appeared and i could not retrieve what I'd written!!!!!!!!!  I am 8 weeks post op with similar feelings and significant pain.  I saw surgeon yesterday and he made light of my pain as "everything looks fine".  He did say I still had significant swelling which could account for "discomfort".  Before I lose this message, I just want to say that expectaions mean a lot and I don't believe most women are given realistic expectaions regarding recovery time.  The women on this site have saved my sanity.  Keep reading and communicating.  You will learn more here than in the doc's office.

    My best wished to you

Try not to worry. It if you feel unwell or you have discharge go to your GP. Also make sure you get your follow up appointment at 6 Weeks. Once you are examined you can be reassured. You will still have swelling and stitches causing discomfort. Hope all ok at your check up.
