driving jobs after microdiscectomy

Hi i am wondering can i do driving job(light van)which having 40 min drive 10 mnts walk for 8_9 hours?no heavy lifting.if i can after how many weeks after microdiscectomy?your advice please

    You would need to ask your GP ... You may find sitting for long periods makes you sore .. You will know yourself what your body will cope with .,x

    As stated above you need to ask your GP but also your consultant, I returned to work as an site engineer, mainly doing electrical work across corporate sites 2 weeks after my op but it was only on light duties, no periods of extended reaching, working at height & absolutely no lifting. My consultant only agreed as my company was very short staffed & I was under pressure to return plus the old adage the bills still needed paying, I went on tho to have numerous issues & this could have been a contributing factor. Good luck
