Does anyone know if it's okay to take propranolol (beta blocker 40mg x 3) and venlafaxine (SNRI 37.5mg x 2) together? I don't know if my doctor forgot to prescribe me propranolol on my last visit simply thinking I had some left or that im not supposed to take the two he never said anything and I don't want to have to go back so soon.

Put them in together on Google. It should come up on one of their lists.. Or to be safer is your pharmacy open? Theyd be able to tell you a definite yes or no.

    Hi Bonnie,

I know you don't want to go back in but I'd at least call the doc back and see if he/she just forgot. Maybe they can reorder it on the phone w/o having to go in again.

I wasn't sure if I was allowed to discuss that kind of thing over the phone, thanks for the idea. smile

Propanolol and venlafaxine do react. The propanolol will increase the affect of venlafaxine because it will alter the drugs metabolism. Make sure you are monitored by your doctor. Please talk to your doctor first before taking them together.

Got this off Rx drug reactions
