dry eye issue in one eye after subconjunctival hemorrhage

Some months ago I had a subconjunctival hemorrhage in my left eye which took quite awhile to clear up - two to three months.

While the hemorrhage lasted I had a lot discomfort in my eye, and a recurring "scratchy" feeling, as if sand were in my eye. The doctor told me that scratchy feeling can happen during the hemorrhage and would clear up afterward.

The hemorrhage did go away, albeit very slowly! However, the "scratchy" feeling never went away and persists till this day.

I am led to believe that because my hemorrhage lasted longer than the usual hemorrhage and since many other people have no discomfort at all during a hemorrhage, that somehow whatever I experienced took some kind of toll on my eye. But no doctor I have consulted so far has has had any knowledge of such a complication resulting from a hemorrhage.

I am confident it is a direct result of whatever happened to my eye during the hemorrhage, because that is when the discomfort started, and I had never had a similar scratchy feeling before then.

I also found from the optomertist that my vision had decreased in the left eye by .50 diopter after this incident, while my vision in my right eye did not decrease.

I also feel confident the issue is related to or aggravated by a dry environment because the sensation immediately becomes more uncomfortable every time I need to use the heat in the house - to the point that I am now hesitant to turn on the heat at all.

My right eye remains fine and does not have the same sensitivity to dryness as the left.

Has anyone else had a similar complication after a hemorrhage and does anyone know what could have happened to my eye during the hemorrhage to cause this?

Is there any way to reverse the issue, or is there nothing I can do to alleviate the discomfort but start using artificial tears in my left eye daily?
