Dry eyes from trazodone or gabapentin?

Posted , 4 users are following.

I started both around the same time and my eyes the last few days have been really dry feeling.

I dont think trazodone is adding any additional improvement to my sleep so may phase it down (50mg currently).

I am taking 300 mg gaba at night and in morning for nerve pains.

Which of these two are the problem for my dry eyes?

Dry eyes and dry mouth are common side effects of gab, as are blurred vision. I use Soothe eye drops for that. Another thing is that gab has a short half life, i.e. wears off in 5-7 hours. It's normally prescribed 3-4 times a day to prevent withdrawal. If you're new to the drug, you may not realize it's an unusual drug. Read up on it and be aware of the problems affiliated with it. For many of us it doesn't help with the pain and the side effects make it intolerable.
