Every morning i would have a layer of gluey stuff which i assume to be dried saliva, is there a deeper problem to this symptom? And how do i get rid of this problem, thanks.

Hi John, it sounds as though you sleep with your mouth open and the other thing that occurs to me, is you might have oral thrush - candidiasis.  Is your tongue white?

Now that you mentioned it, there is a layer of white stuff, not too thick. Also, i am not sure if i am sleeping with my mouth open but my brother once took a video of me napping and my mouth was foaming with saliva, not sure if that's is what's causing this.

It sounds like oral thrush. Perhaps you should go and see your GP or your dentist and mention that your tongue is white.  Is your throat sore at all?  You sometimes get that with thrush.

It can be caused by all sorts of things, drugs, diabetes to name but 2.

Thanks for the advice, i think i might go for a checkup. My throat doesn't feel sore, but i do feel thirsty quite often. I don't have any serious health problems, and take no medication though. Although i have to say i have some serious breathing difficulties when jogging( something i don't experience in the past). I credit that to insomia i am having quite recently too but not sure if both cases are related.

Excessive thirst can be a sign of diabetes as can excessive urination.

Let me know how you get on and good luck!
