Dry red rash on penis

Anyone know what's happening here, i've had this rash for about 5 months now, itching burning dryness flaking, i've tried a lot of different creams ointments etc, i went to the doctor they said it looked like a yeast infection so they gave me ketoconazole 2% for 2 weeks, i'm now about 2 weeks after treatment and the rash still looks like it did before treatment but the symptoms are gone is it healing or is the rash coming back or maybe side effects from the cream?image

Did you do a full STI screening.. that might help.. did it appear after a relatively recent sexual encounter? That could indicate an infection

Problems with penile skin, particularly at the tip are most often to do with what the skin has been in contact with - this is most often what is applied on a regular basis, such as soap and other forms of body wash such as shower gel, Change can often come about because of a change to a different soap or shower gel for example. Or, potentially, a change in Lube or what else is applied to the penis for masturbation or sex.

You say you were not sexually active at the time this first appeared? Other common issues are related to personal hygiene - so also think about whether you shower regularly, such as everyday, if you put on freshly laundered underwear, that kind of stuff.

Simply think about the broader things that are in contact with your penile skin and review what is going on in terms of your penile hygiene - another example would be do you wash your penis after each time you urinate - and with what do you wash it ...... ?

Yeah i try to keep everything as clean as i can i thought it was some form of dermatitis originally so i changed out most of the stuff i was using with hypoallergenic products soaps detergents even changed out my underwear to 100% cotten but nothing changed that's when i went to the doctor and they gave me the antifungal cream.

With many medical professionals there is a step by step process and for the majority they will try an antifungal cream first, as simply, statistically this will likely be the problem.

Use the antifungal as directed and if this does not resolve the issue update your doctor - if you simply cannot resolve this with the help of the doctor you need to see a Dermatologist ....
