Dryness and pain after boric acid

I inserted a boric acid capsule into my vagina 3 weeks ago. Following this, I experienced bleeding, pain and severe dryness, and did not use any further. I am still experiencing pain and extreme dryness (I have never experienced this before, I'm only 25). I have seen my doctor twice but nothing has helped. I'm wondering if anyone has experienced anything similar, and if so, how long did dryness/pain take to go away? Or any tips on how to restore natural moisture for good, rather than temporary moisturisers?
