I go for surgery March 2nd and am awake through the night worrying about almost every aspect from the op, pain relief, back sleeping ,compression socks and feeling helpless and trapped when I come home. did anyone else experience such extreme anxiety ??

I'm the same as you... Hip dysplasia at birth, was in hospital for 3 years, and now some 35 years later, right hip due to be replaced in less than 4 weeks.... A pile of nerves.
Good luck to you.

Hi Caron, yes I'm the same .....I've lived with hip issues all my life, and thougnt I'd just continue with always having this weak hip, but when I got to the point that I can't walk far, can't get up steps etc I knew I was just putting off the inevitable by delaying it. Still difficult to get my head around it, but know I've no choice. I'm very nervous too, want it past with as it's now all I can think about. Let me know how you get on, and good luck to you too
