Hi everyone, I am 37 and for the past 4 years I had been suffering from ear pain. Last october I saw a ENT specialist who did a ct scan of my ear, neck and chest with contrast but that came back clear. He did notice I had a paralsyed vocal cord but when he did the camera that came back ok. He wrote to my doctor reconmending in his opinion I needed to see a neurologist. My doctor did nothing. I started having facial numbness in my left hand side of my face, it would tingle then go numb. Not to the extent of drooping but to wear its uncomfortable to talk and eat.  8 weeks ago I started getting tingling in my feet and legs, then muscle cramps to the extent I couldn't sleep. I was stretching all the time trying to stop my legs cramping and tingling. I am an active person, but even on days when I could sit and chill I was still getting it. I went back to my doctor who redid all the blood tests, autoimmune etc and they all came back normal. My vision is also very poor recently. He has refered me to the Neurologist and I am waiting for an appointment. He said it could be MS so he has put me on 300mg Neurotin to take on a night. I swear, it is a life saver I slept with no stretching, cramping legs. I still do have tingling in my feet. Does this sound like MS to you? My mum had a brain tumour which scares me silly, but I think that would come up in my bloods if there was any kind of cancer. Any information would be great and put my mind at ease. Thanks for listening xx

Hi. I am a MS patient since 2005. Unfortunately some of symptoms you referred are suspicious, but many other less serious illnesses might have similar symptoms, so.... You could ask for a MRI complete test, head and backbone I mean, in order to seek possible lesions on your nervous system. Be resolute on making the request to your doc. You have the right to know. And to act for the best. Time in these cases is matter.

Have you had some dizziness and double sight as well ?

Hi Fed, Thank you for replying. Yes I have had a lot of dizziness when I stand up etc, I did put it down to my ear pain early on. Now, I am sure its all part of it. I had 20-20 vision , but is has deteriated which is a pain in a bum as I am doing a fine art degree. I am due to see the opticians in a couple of months so it will be interesting to see how far it has deteriated. I will mention the backbone and compltete MRI scan to the Neurologist when I see him. What was your early symptoms? Thank you again. xx

I'm so sorry for your difficulties, indeed. I think your neurologist would suggest you MRI scan at once as he see you, if properly qualified. Vertigoes and lack of balance were my early symptoms, along with reducing of tactile sensation. I had events of double sight as well.

MS is an inflammatory desease as you know. Hence one important thing is to avoid introducing food or substances which could increase nervous tissue inflammation or cause an autoimmune adverse reaction. One of these foods among others is proven to be refined sugar. The majority of MS patients have sensitivity to this type of food (You can do your own researches as confirmation). So , sadly, stay away of sweets as bisquits, ice creams, and so on! Also an excess of fruits can cause problems.

      Be strong
