dulcoease or prunes to soften stools?

Posted , 3 users are following.

I have very solid stools which are an effort to pass. I'd like to get them softened a bit and wondered if anyone would recommend dulcoease or prunes or something else?

I have poor mobility so I need to avoid urgency or diarreah at all costs!

I think I'm drinking enough and I have a good fibre intake.

thanks.

Anything like a lacative should only be used short term or your body becomes dependent on it. More fluid more fruit more fibre maybe fubregel

I would try some metamucil fiber supplement.

If its really hard, do not force it....It could lead to hemmroids or even a fissure. Call your doctor if you want or go to your local drug store and get an enema. Be careful using it as you do not want to do more damage to yourself when you are tyring to help yourself.
