DVT and extreme lower back and pelvic pain

Posted , 7 users are following.

I was diagnosed with a DVT beginning of Dec. Followed by a PE and then fitted with a vena carva filter which was removed over a week ago.

I have had excruciating lower back and pelvic pain for weeks now and was wondering if anyone else has this as well?

My vascular surgeon seems to think that the pelvic pain is a separate issue from the DVT yet I'm convinced it is all linked some how.

Has anyone else had this as well? It would be great if anyone can shed some light on this. smile

Thank you@

    Hi ladies

So I went to my physiotherapist today and she is going to ask permission from my vascular surgeon to work on the clot to try and break it down / dissolve it. She will also use sonar to do this, but she will only do it once she has his permission in writing from my specialist.

I also get the feeling that my mother might think I'm exaggerating and making out that it's worse than it is, and I'm only a month and a half into this! I think we are so used to getting over illnesses or injuries within 6-8 weeks max, so it seems absurd that anything should take any longer.

With that being said though, My hubby comes with to Dr appointments and sessions so he can also ask questions and hear what is discussed. This helps him realize the severity of the condition which I think really helps.smile

Like I said before, I don't think anybody can imagine what this is like for us unless they have experienced it for themselves. Something I don't wish on anyone...

Oh my word ladies, I have been in agony these last few days! 😣

I'm so over it! My entire body is aching head to toe. I don't have just one localized area of pain, it feels like my whole body Is inflamed. It's the worst in the morning when I wake up and my pain meds have worn off sad

Sorry, just seriously needed to vent!

Hope you all feeling a lot better than me at this stage smile

Today is the first day I've been on this site so I've been reading a lot or everyones posts. I know your post is from 5 mths ago but how are you doing? What kind of doctor is that you were talking about to dissolve the clot...it wasn't a vascular doctor? I'm so sorry your not getting the understanding from your husband.I've been dealing with this for 22 years so I know how hard it is. Pls reply and let us know how you are.

Still waiting to see the specialist and hopefully get some answers  to questions i ask...... still i only have 2 weeks to wait now .

Are you able to wear the commpression hose? Ive tried the full hose that comes to waist but it squeezes me so tightly that I have to pee all the time. The knee highs hurt behind my knee, very tender there, on my bad leg for 22 yrs. I wear thing high...but on me they come all the way up over my leg. I have prescription ones 30-40. Takes 10 minutes to get them on but for some crazy reason they do help. I live in the south so in the fall, spring and summer, its too hot to wear. I can't believe it takes so long to c a doctor! Same thing here though. I know it's frustrating waiting and wears on you mentally when you can't do what you want to. I think sometimes I cry over that more than the pain. I see where you said it started in December. You do have to give it some time. Because my original clot happened 22 yrs ago I can't remember when I started feeling lik my old self. But I did for a long time. I hope that gives you some hope. I Look forward to hearing what your dr says. Take care! and know you're not alone!
