dvt and pulmonary embolism at 41

[b:53f724bc0b]I have recently been diagnosed with a DVT.. A complete blockage in the pelvic area. I smoked just 12 a day and only smoked for approx 6 yrs. I am 28. It started as a pain in my lower back and the doc thought I had a swollen joint, then I was diagnosed with Sciatica but it then turned out to be a DVT. I was so shocked. What could have caused this and will it affect the rest of my life? I'm only 28 and couldn't cope with this for rest of my life

i am 24 and i had a DVT, pulmonary embolism at the age of 19.

I remember waking up one night to a huge cramp in my left thigh.

i left it for a couple of days until i noticed that my leg was twice its size and purple

i went to the doctors and he sent me straight to A&E

the doctors told me there that if i had left it another day than i would be dead, scary stuff!!!

i stayed in hosp for about 3 weeks and my whole life is affected by it,

my leg often hurts and gets tired,

they reckon that it might be because of my abortion or just down to the fact that i stayed in bed doing nothing while my bof was out earning the money,

i have sworn to myself that i will never be that lazy and selfish and i also have to have an injectio nevery single day during my pregancy as it passes on;

Hi I have posted on a different topic but would like to know if you had to be treated with heparin before you tried for a baby? I had a PE 7 days after my daughter was born but want to have another baby. What did you doctors tell you?
