DVT – need prescription badly

Greetings all,

I will get right to it. About 3 months ago, a few days before Christmas, I began to feel discomfort in my Left calf. The discomfort emanated from deep in my calf, about midway up on the back side of my shin bone. I Googled, of course. I decided that since I had been putting it in odd positions and straining/ stressing it a lot, maybe it was shin splints. A few days pass with the discomfort worsening and since my father had gone through DVT events beginning around age 50 (I turned 50 on 12-30-70), I assumed it was a DVT. I called my daughter, an RN, and spoke to her and her husband, a nurse practitioner, and told them my symptoms (this was approx. 12-28-20.) By this time, it was pink running down the inside of my leg from lower calf to ankle and a localized fever. Practitioner said it could be a few things. He recommended that I take 400-600mg of Ibuprofen 4 times daily for 6 days. I did as he asked, and the symptoms worsened. I was now experiencing moderate to sometimes severe pain on my heel and instep. I asked if they knew someone who could write me a prescription for Xarelto. They did not. By this time, I had put myself on an 81mg aspirin regimen, compression socks and I have been staying more active. Around 1-7-21 I began to feel, I assume, another clot. This time in my thigh, near the center similar to the one in my calf. I was having some tenderness, warmth and swelling on the back of my knee. Ok, I think to myself, enough is enough. I am 100% sure. I know my dad has Xarelto. He has been on it a while and has some spare built up. He gives me enough to get me by until the ones I ordered from the ‘Dark Web’ arrive. Yes, you heard me right hangs head I was just so scared and so broke from everything slowing down. I have no insurance and cannot afford imaging and blood work etc. But I am certain I got what I paid for and probably deserve, counterfeit Xarelto. I took them for a total of about 6.5 weeks after taking the borrowed ones from Dad (15mg twice daily for about 18 days). About 3 weeks after Dad’s was gone and I began taking the ‘new’ meds, paranoia and doubt began to creep in. Having sore spots here and there but in denial about it because it worsened and multiplied until I could deny it no more. I borrowed a few more Xarelto from Dad Friday, 3-19-21. I have started taking 15mg twice daily again and the additional symptoms are fading fast but he doesn’t have much more to spare.

Is there a sympathetic ear out there that could write me a prescription for Xarelto? I could do a phone conference or any correspondence you wish. I can also pay for said consult, just can’t afford blood work/imaging. I don’t qualify for public assistance because I am self employed and I have no insurance.

Or if, in your professional opinion, switching to Apixaban would be safe and close to as effective for DVT treatment, I have heard there are approved generics available that I could more easily afford.

Signed, Scared and probably Stupid

Oh dear...you really do need a proper diagnosis. It may be cellulitis and not a DVT.You know its not wise to use any of these medications as you may be doing more harm than good.....dont know where you are...USA?Can you get to ER?
