**i think i have always muddled my words a bit. i was diagnosed as a child but it seems to hit a new level. is this a problem anyone else experienced. I cannot seem to survive a day without misspeaking. I have even noticed i missthink - think the wrong word but say the right one. i have been to GP who said i am just suffering from health anxiety and have become fixated - i think i have primary progressive aphasia

Yes, i have been terrible for this probably in the last 6 months when other perimenopause symptoms started. I sometimes have 2 words in my head that i could say and end up saying a combination of the 2. its so embarrassing!

    Hi Rebecca,

Brain fog seems to be quite a common symptom in perimenopause/menopause. Having said that it could be down to something else. It may be worth getting your folate and vitamin B12 level tested. I suffered with finding words when my levels were low and it did improve once I was treated for it. Just another option to discuss with your doctor. (Be careful not to supplement without testing as treating one can mask a deficiency in the other. It's always best to get medical advice first.) why do doctors assume everything is anxiety? Whilst anxiety can cause an array of symptoms and it's important to get support for this it's not always the cause of everything. All the best,
