Ear infection-neck tension

hi all, I have had a double ear infection recently after a really persistent cold (now gone). I had a week of antibiotics which seemed to clear up the redness and swelling in my ear canal and ear drum but over a week after I finished my antibiotics I still have really blocked feeling ears. I think it's starting to get slightly better but has anyone also had a tight feeling neck with ear problems as well. it started when the ear problems did, just down the right side but it doesn't seem to be going. I don't know if it's directly related to the ear infection/blockage or if its tension related (I've been pretty stressed since this all started). any help/input is appreciated!

thanks, I went back after i finished the antibiotics and they said the signs of an ear infection were now gone and it's just the blocked ears feeling and tight feeling in my neck (not really any hearing loss) so they want me to give it some time as they think should clear by itself. they basically said they wont refer me to anyone else until its had a bit of time first but I'll try again if theres no improvement in a few weeks. I'm not sure where your from but I'm in the UK and I can get a referral to anyone else unless it's from my GP which is frustrating

YES, ear problems and tight neck muscles go hand in hand.......the same muscles that move the neck operate the eustacian tube......tensor veli muscle. Tension makes it all worse.
Try to relax.....

thanks for the response. I couldn't seem to find anything that mentioned it online so I thought maybe it wasnt but that makes sense. it does seem to get worse the more i'm aware of it and when I can ignore it for a bit it can ease off. it's just frustrating because its causing me stress and tension which then makes it worse. i also get health anxiety so i get really anxious over any health issues which doesnt help but I've yet to find a way to make myself relax!
