ear perforations - myringoplasty

Hi All,

I've had an ear perforation and had 2 myringoplasty surgeries and both failed. This was about 8 years ago. Since then, I've left it and didn't go back to fix it. Now I've found out that I have a 2nd perforation in the same ear drum. Both holes go out the outer edge of the ear drum. Now I am thinking of going back to an ENT surgeon and getting it fixed.

Anyone else had similar issues with 2 perforations?

What was the success rate?

Did your hearing improve?

Since 8 years ago, has myringoplasty surgery improved? Can it be done via the ear canal as opposed to cutting the back of the ear open. i.e endoscopic myringoplasty?

I hope to hear from someone who can give me some faith as I feel quite down about this. Also, my tinnitus has increased and is constant. Where before with the 1 perforation is was on and off.

Thanks in advance.
