Ear spray seems to just come out?

Hi, I've been given an ear spray to put in my ears to reduce inflammation, but when I spray, the liquid just seems to come right out of my ears. I don't know if this is normal and if enough stays in the ear to coat the inflammation. Is this normal? I have tried putting cotton wool just at the outside of the ear, but when I remove it, I just see the liquid has soaked into the cotton wool and still hasn't stayed in the ear. Does enough of the liquid stay in the ear to be effective? Thanks!

    Dear Penguin10,

Have you tried lying on one side with the sprayed ear facing the ceiling? By doing so, I hope that the liquid will be able to flood the ear canal thus covering the inflammed part of the ear.

That's a very good idea, and I do usually do that with ear drops - I just didn't know whether I needed to with spray, as the bottle doesn't mention it! I think I'll do that and see how it goes. Thank you very much. smile

      Hi again,

Try spraying it into your ear in an upright position first (sitting on your bed or standing next to your bed) and then quickly lie on your side once you've sprayed into your ear.

I tried alternative therapy after years going to 3 different ENTs and spending $$$$ and they couldn't even supply me an answer. Took me close to 3 months to do this alternative therapy and doesn't even cost me anything. I am almost back to normal now.

Have you tried laying down? If you're putting it in the left, lay on your right. If you're putting it in the right, lay on your left. Just for a few minutes.

That's definitely the best idea, I think. I knew I had to do that with ear drops, but I didn't think I would have to with ear spray; some ear spray solutions say you can just spray and go. But I will definitely try this - thank you! smile
