Anyway I went to a walkk in clinic and the dr examined my ear, tested the hearing then prescribed an antibiotic, this helped. I now know what to do.
The wic dr said there was a lot of wax in my ear. I saw another dr the following day as I had a hospital appointment for something entirely differet. He kindly examined my ear saying there was wax plus reddening and advised me to continue taking the antibiotic. Best thing I did actually! My headache, earche, sensation of pressure which increased horribly whilst and after eating even soft food decreased making life liveable again.
I know only too well the misery caused by this condition. it is not pleasant t all.
If only the GP had prescribed an antibiotic sooner I would have been spared this misery and worry. It makes one feel really ill in many ways and one does not even feel like moving, eating, drinking etc. Neck glands were swollen too plus slightly sore throt unrelieved by throat lozenges as it was all due to an ear infection that should have been treated, sorry to rant on.
Take care. xx

Re TMJ dysfunction.
I have this as well and get occasional problems with it which coincided with the ear problem.
. I went to the dental hospital. Following the I was then referred back to my dentist.
II would suggest going back to the person who diagnosed TMJ and/or the dentist.
Then if u see the ent guy again you can comment on the findings of the dentist. I suggest a dentist with a doctorate. They can do special tests using equipment not found in an ent clinic.

i saw a maxiallary surgeon. She has tmj as well. No thumoing but other issues. Everyine claims to be a an expert lol then when you tell them something not standard and common they say..mhm hopefully it will stop im not familiar with thst. And dont care. They are done, that alien response. You see google is a fool they list tests abailable.
I truely feel many in here are smart. Smarter then the average so i poseted it, we all think alot, and have been thru a lot. I know inhave ailments and an anxiety disorder but i think half on here do too. I also think over time this anxiety disorder breaks the body down over time.
do you think this can resolve on its own iver time? its some kind of spasms in the inner ear. ( clearly grasping atbstraws bu anthers gut feeling)hard to be objective when its in yourself.

it feels as fif it will never clear and clouds everything else as do eye problems. That is why it is important to start at the basics and get it sorted out at grass root level.
I have been through this myself but in all truth it was not until I went into the walk in private clinic that I received the correct diagnosis and therefore treatment. My ear problem had been going on since before Christmas!
Anyway I had had enough so went to the afore mentioned walk in clinic expecting to be fobbed off. I was very pleasantly surpised to see a private dr who took the time and trouble to,listen to my history, carry out a brief hearing test using a tuning fork, he examined the back of my ear meaning the area of scalp and of course also my ear and throat, he felt my neck glands that were swollen on the left side of my neck. He said that there was wax in the ear and because of raised temperature, headache, problem with very painful swallowing and loss of interest in eating and drinking that I should have an antibiotic. He took a throat swab in case of a streptococcal infection.
He prescribed 500 mgms of amoxycillin three times a day and simple pain killers plus ear drops to soften the wax. However he said if the pain worsens after gently instilling the drops then to STOP them immediately.
I went to bed early with a hot water bottle against the offending ear I had the most awful headache imaginable and took one antibioic plus two paracetamols. I out the ear drops in but it caused more pain so decided not to put any more in as the dr had instructed.
I woke at 2am without any headache Hurrah!
I took another antibiotic and had a full glass of water .
I continued to feel better but I couldnot eatany breakfast until much later in the day.
I saw the other dr and he examined my ear saying it was reddened plus the wax and told me to continue with the antibiotics.
Another thing I was told by the drs was to avoid getting any water in the ear, to keep away from draughts, to wear a scarf esp outdoors, to avoid scratching, rubbing the ear and obviously not to poke around to remove wax.
I am also afraid of having my temperature takken in my ear and insist that I very gently take my own in the opposite ear.
This does nt go down too well with some healthcare professionals but it is my ear, my body and I am in charge.
I am also careful not to eat any crumbly/acidic foodstuffs tht may atsrt irritating my throat leading to painful ear. This is called referred pain.
I always drink water with food to wash away any bits of food debris from the back of my throat etc.
I am not putting this very well but I hope u get the gist. It is these tips that drs who are used to these problmswill explain. It cost me a lot of money for that consultation plus antibiotics, ear drops and throat swab but I was in so much pain and so worried, not anxious, but genuinly worried about the cause of the escalating level of pain that money did not seem that important.
Please do not think I am advocating private care it is just that where I was staying was away from home and next door to a private hospital with a walk in clinic where a dr had sufficient time and experience and interest to go through a proper consultation like the old days and therefore prescribe the correct appropriate treatment.
Some things are caused by anxiety some things make u anxious.

Sometimes in bed people hear their blood rushing up to their brain, as it passes around the ear. I understand sometimes if you are warm the noise and flow will be greater. I may be wrong it is only a suggestion.
Rubbing the sides of your neck between shoulder and neck may help.resolve the beat. Personally I do not feel it is dangerous. I used to get this when I was in the bath when younger.
Are you suffering dermatone up the side of your neck when this happens, I mean redness

If the ear is discharging which yours presumably is not as you have not mentioned any discharge then a swab is usually taken and sent for culture and sensitivity.
In the meantime a broad spectrum antibiotic is usually prescribed.
Another possibility is that of wax in the ear. The ear should always be examined before inserting any drops either to soften or treat any possible infection or prior to syringing.
Some surgeries refuse to syringe ears preferring to send the patient to a special centre for same.
NB The blood tests for inflammatory markers can be negative despite an infection being present.

I has PS in my ear canal and I do not get this problem now all that happens to me is bits of dead skin block my ears, Ps it drives me daft.
If you find the whole problem a nasty, worrying problem put your mind at rest and make your appointment again and get it sorted, whatever it is

If massage increases the pain then what is the point of doing it?
Have they investigated the possibility of stones in the salivary glands?

An infecton can make someone feel very depressed indeed as can chronic unexplained intense pain.
Please do not allow anyone to syringe your ear unless there is definite evidencee of wax and eveen then it would have to be softened for at least three days prior to suction. Lisa I would seek a second opinion from EN and also Maxillary Facial people.
Give yourselfabrething space to recover from the ear syringing etc. Perhaps request some antibiotics to try.

I would question why the ear was suctioned when there was no wax present.
