I've had them done twice. It did take a few days for optimum relief, but it did feel quite a bit better immediately. Good luck!!!

Thanks......IT DOES FEEL BETTER as no more fluid in ear there is just an awareness of feeling swollen and a "foreign object " in there ! Probably psychological! I HOPE IT HELPS KEEP THE FLUID FROM BUILDING BACK UP.....

Hi Judi. For me Ear Tubes (grommets) did not work. I had one temporary set put in, my ears were quite horrible for a week or so, by the 2nd week my ears were not sore and my hearing was back to normal. But within the month my pressure was back and my ear drums rejected the tubes and one, shortly followed by the other they came out and my ear drum healed. The doctor then thought I should get "permanent" tubes which are larger, harder to come out and are meant to last up to 2 years I think...got those put in and my ear drums rejected them again and they fell out within 2 weeks. I then went to a more respectable ENT Specialist who advised me that I pretty much just wasted $2000 and that she never would have recommended grommets for me. After 3 ENT specialists I have been told constantly that there is nothing that can help me. I really hope they work for you. It almost seems that ear tubes are the "go-to" response to ETD but I have hardly ever read that they helped. The one success story I read about was someone who went to an Upper Cervical Chiropractor and had their C1 and C2 vertebrae worked on...or aligned..? Something to do with the spine, close to the neck. There is not a single Upper Cervical one near me but worth having a look into it in your area. I found the guys' post. It won't let me copy and paste but his name is nikosklimentos and if you just Google "90% cured! Close to 100. Eustachian Tube Dysfunction" it should come up. It's a post from this same website. Worth a read. Good luck.
