Early Retirement through ill health

Posted , 2 users are following.

I'm 55 in Dec 2017 and have lived with a brain tumour since age of 34. I've had a biopsy, 6 weeks of radiotherapy, (so i cant have any more), I also had an operation in 2015 Feb to try to remove ALL of the tumour but only managed PARTIAL and after I came out I received a 6 week bout of chemotherapy.

I have been going since they first found it ( through me having my first fit ) for an MRI every 3mnths ( the best I got to, was 6 months but that was only a short while) I have not been to work since February 2015 and now they have called me in (on July 12th) to talk about early retirement because I still struggling with my balance and I cant walk very far besides not being able to write with my right hand as my tumour was in my motor region. ( I WAS right handed).

Now for the question, I've received PIP and EESA and DISABALED BADGE for the car without applying for it. ( I think macmillan nurse did all that because I have a grade 3 tumour.

What I really like to know is now that I am on no work at all what's the next step for me e.g letting EESA know, I know it doesn't affect PIP.

    Hi,

I'm sorry to hear about all of this. Yes you'll need to ring ESA. I'm unsure exactly what will happen regarding your early retirement and your ESA but they'll guide you through when you ring. Either this or you could ring CAB and they'll advice you further. Sorry but retirement and claiming benefits isn't my greatest knowledgable area.

No problem, i'm just sorry i couldn't help you. Our forums here are extremely quiet and it's mostly just myself that answers, with a few other replies sometimes. If people didn't know the answer to your question then they wouldn't have replied. I just didn't want to leave your question totally unanswered. Hope you can find help with your questions. CAB are also very good with this type of thing.
