Earpain and ringing

i had a really bad ear infection about 10yrs ago which left me with some deafness in my right ear, 4 months ago i got another ear infection but with 2 lots of antibiotics it cleared up, it has left me with ear pain and a feeling of pressure and buzzing and ringing in my ear, doctor said theres no infection and my eardrum is clear. I am going to see an ENT specialist in a weeks time and was wondering what they will do and has anybody any ideas what could be causing the pain? Ive had my teeth and jaw checked out by my dentist who said its not tmj, im just at a loss and feel like the doctors think i am imagining it to be honest but its driving me mad...

    Keep pestering them. Have a hearing check and if no answer to your symptoms, get an MRI scan. I had frequent feelings of pressure in one ear off and on. Several infections, in the same ear and regular syringing. Nothing helped. I too, was made to feel I was wasting everyones time. Good luck Sue and let me know how it goes.

    Like you I have ear pain and a feeling of pressure,have had it for the past year. Originally was diagnosed with glue ear but audiologist said it wasn't. Saw ENT specialist this afternoon,he said I have far better hearing than him and that there is nothing wrong with my ear at all. He advised that I go to see my dentist to get my jaw checked out but if that comes back with the same verdict as his where do I go from there. I totally understand where you are coming from and just want this sorted out,as like you it's driving me mad

      Poor you, it is driving me mad too, you dont feel pain for nothing so i cant understand it, did they just do a hearing test today?

      No,he looked in my ears and my mouth. Checked my jaw and my neck Then had hearing test. Left ear with all the problems comes out as being fine,no fluid,no glue ear,hearing really good for my age,so no idea what is causing this constant blocked feeling in my ear every day and pain in that side of my face.It's hard as I'm deaf in my right ear so when the left ear goes I find it really hard hearing anything. Good luck with your visit to the ENT specialist next week,hope you get more answers than I did x
